The Ashfield Commuter Car park was part of the Transport Access Program, a NSW Government initiative to provide a better experience for public transport customers by delivering accessible, modern and integrated transport infrastructure.

A new 120 space multi-level commuter car park provides more commuter parking spaces on Brown Street and included Lift access for people with disabilities, the elderly, parents with prams and customers carrying luggage, etc.

The new car park is designed to integrate into the surrounds and is equipped with new lights, signs and CCTV cameras.
