There are over 160 level crossings in Metropolitan Melbourne. Many of these cause congestion traffic and rail and are the source of accidents. The Victorian Government has a program to remove these conflicts over the coming years, with two being commenced this year. Springvale is one of these two and CCG are part of a consortium that won this Alliance project with Networx and VicRoads.

The principal partners of MacDow, Balfor Beatty, PB and Beca with Vic Roads, PTV and MTM managed this exciting project which involved:

  • Lowering the track to pass under a new road bridge

  • New platforms at the lower level

  • New station facilities at street level

  • ‘Kiss and ride’, taxis and parking for people with disabilities

  • New Bus interchange on Springvale Road

  • Replacement on grade parking

  • New station forecourt with bike parking and retail
